“Syncopated Rhythms” - THE PROGRAM for Women and Families, Inc.

THE PROGRAM for Women and Families, Inc. celebrated its 25th Anniversary with ‘Syncopated Rhythms’, a jazz brunch and auction, at the Lehigh Country Club on October 8th.  The Dave Roper Trio entertained the 175 guests, including Senator Pat Browne, Mayor Ed Pawlowski and Lisa, the Honorable Max Davison and Barbara, Judge William Platt and Maureen, District Attorney James Martin and Pat, Judge Thomas Wallitsch and Lauren, Larry and Hazel Hilliard, Pat Wood Beldon, Steve and Barbara Diamond, United Way president Susan Gilmore, board president Susan Harris and Bill, brunch chairwoman Judy Stoner and Mike, and John Zettlemoyer and Cynthia.

Max Davison recounted the beginning days of THE PROGRAM.  Dr. Joyce Dougherty, Executive Director of THE PROGRAM, brought the audience up to date and presented an award to Dr. W. Richard Covert for his dedication to THE PROGRAM.   A graduate of THE PROGRAM’s Day Program told the audience what THE PROGRAM had done for her and her family over a 3-year period.  Local glass artist Carlene Morrow’s Tiles for Change was also displayed at the brunch.  Carlene and her husband John were in attendance.

If you were at the brunch, thank you for coming.  If you missed it, you missed a good time.  Put November 4th, 2007 on your calendar for THE PROGRAM’s second ‘Syncopated Rhythms’ jazz brunch.
